Vertigreen

In my semester abroad at the Mid Sweden University I designed this vertical home garden in a five week design course. It uses aeoroponics, a technology to grow more crops in a smaller space. My design goal was to build an affordable gardening shelf, using different methods, mainly design for manufacturing. The system is designed to be extended with extra growing modules if needed.

Extendable design

Vertigreen was made for upgrades. Users can try the technology at a low price point and extend their setup later, if needed. The upgrade is easy and hassle free, because every part is stackable and uses quick connectors.

Customizable

The side panels of Vertigreen can be magnetically exchanged to fit the styling of the kitchen where it will be installed in. The main body is made out of a grayish green plastic that blends in with the surrounding.
